Hiking in Memmingen and the surrounding area

For people who prefer hiking in flatter areas we offer numerous hiking trails. You can hike along the beautiful paths in the magnificent Alpine foothills whilst enjoying the view of the Alps.

A 1100-kilometre network and 79 different tours invite you to discover the region on foot.
You will find the most important information in the hiking map “Wandern im Kneippland Unterallgäu” along with the accompanying brochure with various tour recommendations.

There are tours to meet everybody’s taste, whether you choose a forest experience trail suitable for children, or you prefer a “Pfarrer-Kneipp path” to visit the stations in the life of the best known “water doctor” or you just want to explore a new part of the Lower Allgäu Forest.

The accompanying leaflet describes ten different themes, 60 circular trails and nine hiking trails. Every tour is introduced by a brief outline and a small map.

Furthermore, the content of the hiking map can be found in a separate hiking portal. Here, you can plan and arrange your own individual tour. You can find this in the Internet on the following web site:
www.wanderportal-unterallgäu.de.

The hiking map and the website were created with the new signposted trails in Lower Allgäu. Almost 5000 signposts and 120 trail information signs were installed for the 2012 hiking season.

The hiking map can be purchased from Memmingen Tourist Centre for € 6.00.
